Snapper Fishing on the Improve in the Bay

The snapper fishing has been hard over the last couple of months but with the water temp getting up over the last two weeks the Snapper have turned up to play both in Tauranga Harbour and along Papamoa to about 18m and its a a similar story off Matakana. The weather looks a bit dodgy for the weekend so the the Kaituna cut might be a bit marginal but don’t let this put you off fishing the Snapper are biting hard in the harbour and with a bit of effort you should be in.

Diving Report

==================== Friday =======================================
Not looking to bad, there is still a decent swell predicted and max of 15knots
of SW for tommorow, The swell should stay around 1mtr and I really dont think we
will get 15knots, with the forcast so bad lately tommorow is worth a crack.

Prefered site, Okaparu (stay off the shallows), Westernside of Motiti or
Matakana side of Karewa

Not good for fishing!

Well the weather is turning to shite for the weekend unfortunately so it’s an indoor mission for me. A few Marlin have been caught and some tag and released for the Whitianga tournament .Most or the hook-ups have been north of the Aldermans. At least the teams have had a couple of days good weather. I know some of the teams are coming in tonight before it blows up to hard. Hopefully the weather improves for the Tauranga one base tournament this week!Click here to read more
